LAPP Tannehill hires Miah Nelson as an Admin Assistant to provide administrative support, manage office operations, and assist in strategic planning.

What are past positions you've held in your career? And what skills/experience do you bring to this position?
I started working when I was 14, so LOTS of customer service roles. I was an Accounts Payable Clerk for a bit too! I have a good attention to detail and a good foundation for communicating with both coworkers and customers.

What’s your favorite part about working in your field?
I would have to say, helping and learning new things. I like being able to assist people with issues/ big workloads.

What’s a new skill you’re hoping to learn or improve in this role?
I am hoping to get a better understanding of what an office job expects of you.

If you could switch careers for a day, what would you do?
Maybe Quality!

What do you enjoy doing outside of work? What are your hobbies/passions?
I enjoy camping, paddleboarding, and napping. All with my dog, Jim.

Do you have a favorite book, movie, or TV show at the moment?
I have been rewatching Modern Family. Also, Friends, New Girl.

What’s something surprising about you that most people wouldn’t guess?
I am REALLY good at Rumikub.

Do you have a hidden talent or skill you’d like to share?
I played the violin for almost 10 years!

What is one thing unrelated to work that motivates you every day?
Jim, my dog. Friends.

If you could give your younger self advice, what would it be?
Stand up for yourself, it’s okay to say no.

What is something that helps you through the workday?
My coffee, and getting to go home and relax.

What's the most unique item on your desk or in your workspace?
My strawberry paper clip holder thing and strawberry mug.
