LAPP Tannehill Hires Customer Success Rep
LAPP Tannehill hires Samantha Vaught as a Customer Success Rep to build strong relationships with clients, ensure customer satisfaction, and support client needs and inquiries.
What are past positions you've held in your career? And what skills/experience do you bring to this position?
I have held a variety of jobs, which might give someone a bit of whiplash. As a teenager, I worked at a Pet Resort & Spa located in my hometown of in Deforest, WI. I was a pet caregiver and took care of a variety of animals, outside of just the average dog and cat. In addition to dogs and cats, we also cared for pot belly pigs, goats, and mini horses. While going to school for Criminal Justice, I worked as a 911 Dispatcher for the WI State Capitol Police. After a couple of years of dispatching, I moved to the Cottage Grove Police Department as an Administrative Assistant and handled all records management and court services for the DA’s office. After roughly 7 years in the criminal justice field, I decided to move back to MN and start a new career path as an IT recruiter for a staffing agency in Bloomington, MN. Throughout my career, regardless of the field, I have been very customer facing and feel that this has prepared me to thrive in my current role as a Customer Success Representative.
What’s your favorite part about working in your field?
I really enjoy having a positive impact on those I am surrounded by, as well as those that I am assisting in a professional capacity. Being able to assist a customer/client and deliver their needs efficiently and affectively really fills my cup.
What’s a new skill you’re hoping to learn or improve in this role?
I love the show “How it’s made”, so being in a new industry (Wire & Cable) that I don’t know much about is very exciting. I look forward to learning the ins and outs of a new industry.
If you could switch careers for a day, what would you do?
I would love to work with animals, specifically a large animal vet.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work? What are your hobbies/passions?
I like to paint, read, play pickleball, golf and spend time with my family, who live locally to the area.
Do you have a favorite book, movie, or TV show at the moment?
I have read some really great books, but the one that I continue to read once a year is called “The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F@ck”. It provides really good perspective and is a good reminder to focus on controlling what you can control and letting go of things you can’t.
What’s something surprising about you that most people wouldn’t guess?
I did martial arts for roughly 13 years and have a black belt.
If you could give your younger self advice, what would it be?
Everything always works out the way it is supposed to.
What is something that helps you through the workday?
Close community/culture in the workplace has always been very important to me. Being able to collaborate with my colleagues and feel comfortable asking questions really helps me get through each day.
What's the most unique item on your desk or in your workspace?
I’d say the most unique item/items are some prints of a few paintings/drawings I have done in the past that add some needed color to my cubicle.
