CTS, URD, and JCN Medium Voltage Cable for Industrial Power Distribution
LAPP Tannehill provides a wide range of medium voltage cables (5kV, 15kV, 25kV, 35kV) in a wide range of industry-standard constructions for every power distribution application including industrial plants (new plants, expansions, refurbishment), mines and quarries, military bases, etc.
MV Cable: Common Constructions & Types
Attribute | Options |
---|---|
Constructions | CTS (Copper Tape Shield) cable: A common power distribution cable featuring a semi-conducting layer around the conductor and a helically applied copper tape shield. |
URD (Underground Residential Distribution) cable or JCN (Jacketed Concentric Neutral) cable: These terms are interchangeable and describe an electrical power distribution cable designed for underground supply (direct burial) applications. The cable has a central conductor surrounded by an insulating shield, then a layer of concentric neutral wires, and finally an outer jacket. | |
Types | MV-90 Cable: Rated for operation up to 194°F (90°C). |
MV-105 Cable: Rated for operation up to 221°F (105°C), often used in industrial applications where machinery and other sources can result in higher temperatures. |
