LAPP Tannehill Hires Additional District Sales Manager for Northern States

LAPP Tannehill hires an additional District Sales Manager to manage accounts in Northern Minnesota, Western Wisconsin, and North Dakota. Welcome Jon Bush to the team!

Where are you from and where do you live now?
I grew up in Minnesota and attended the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. After working for a couple of Minnesota companies my wife and I moved to Vermont and then built a home in New York. I then returned to the Midwest and purchased a home in Western Wisconsin where we have lived for 15 years.

Pets/Family?
My wife and I have been together for over 25 years and we have a son and a daughter. We also have 2 Hungarian Vizslas and foster other Vizslas for the Twin Cities Vizsla Club from time to time.

What are your hobbies?
I enjoy the outdoors and I hunt, fish and trap as much as I can. I have always been in to motorcycles, snowmobiles and ATVs and use them whenever I can. My wife and I also enjoy travel. I have travelled throughout Europe and South America as well as almost all of the US. The past few years we have been going to Mexico once or twice a year and have spent most of our time in Baja Sur visiting small towns and enjoying the empty beaches, ocean and friendly people.

What is a random fact about you?
I ran with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain.

What are your favorite and/or recommended books, movies, tv series, or podcasts?
I recently enjoyed reading Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain and Chop Wood Carry Water by Joshua Medcalf. I am a fan of Quentin Tarantino and David Lynch movies as well as westerns. I am in the process of building a shop at my cabin, so I have been watching a lot of YouTube videos on post frame construction. When my wife and I sit down to watch TV we usually watch Chopped and we bet against each other on who will win.

What is one thing that motivates you every day?
Gratefulness-I was fortunate enough to be exposed to impoverished countries when I was young and it permanently changed my view on gratefulness.

Where is the best place you’ve traveled to?
That’s a really tough one. I like Spain a lot. My wife and I will be returning to Spain in April to visit Barcelona. Neither of us have ever been to Barcelona.

If you could give your younger self advice, what would it be?
Really think about who you’re willing to accept advice from.

What are past positions you've held in your career? And what skills/experience do you bring to this position?
I spent a short time in purchasing and realized it wasn’t for me. I read a book that helped me determine a good career path and it pointed me to sales. I got a job with Yamaha Motor Corporation and have been in sales and dealer development for over 25 years.

What are you excited about at LAPP Tannehill?
Meeting the customers. I have always found that the face-to-face interactions with customers are the best part of the job in sales.
