Automotive Ethernet Cables
Automotive ethernet is increasingly the preferred networking and cabling technology for in-vehicle communications. Ethernet communications architecture within a vehicle reduces the need for traditional cabling and enabling weight savings and reduced connectivity costs. Additionally, the architecture enables many types of advanced data-driven systems from vehicular diagnostics and safety systems, all the way to semi-autonomous and autonomous driving capabilities.
Why Automotive Ethernet?
Automotive Ethernet is the next generation of data cables to support a plethora of autonomous safety systems in today’s modern vehicles. Key benefits include:

Automotive Ethernet Cabling
Automotive Ethernet is available in jacketed or un-jacketed and shielded or unshielded variations. Smaller sizes are more commonly used in passenger vehicles, while larger more rugged sizes are used in commercial vehicles.
Key requirements include:
- Data rates of 100BASE-T1 and 1000BASE-T1
- Maximum node lengths of 15 meters for 100BASE-T1 and 15 meters / 20 meters for 1000BASE-T1
- Temperature ranges up to 105 degrees Celsius
