LAPP Worldwide
LAPP was founded in 1957 by Oskar Lapp with ÖLFLEX® the first industrially produced signal cable in the world. Today LAPP produces cables and conductors for different industries and markets: mechanical and systems engineering, the automotive industry, MSR technology, electrical and installations engineering, EDC and more.
LAPP has 21 production sites, approximately 100 national partners worldwide, and 36 sales organizations around the world. With 5,800 employees, we combine the structure of a global network of companies with the distinctive strengths of a family company.
The Lapp Family
A new third generation of Lapp family leadership commenced in October 2022. Matthias Lapp, grandson of the company founder Ursula Ida Lapp, took over Chairman of the Board at Lapp Holding AG. Andreas Lapp’s daughter Katharina Lapp joined the Supervisory Board during the same period. This means that in the future, there will always be one member of the family on the Board of Directors and on the Supervisory Board: LAPP will remain a family company.
LAPP History
The history of LAPP is an excellent example of how Germany’s SMEs have managed to expand onto the global stage. In less than 50 years, a small, innovative outfit from Stuttgart has become one of the world’s leading cable technology companies. Learn more about the history of LAPP.
