Lapp Tannehill hires Mike Martin as an addition to the Inside Sales Team. Mike works remotely from Dallas, TX and has experience in the wire and cable industry! Welcome Mike Martin to our team!
Where are you from and where do you live now? Texas native currently residing in Dallas, TX.
Pets/Family? No pets at the moment but my wife and I have two kiddos. Our daughter, Brooksley, is 8 years old and our son, Jasper, just turned 4. They keep us busy, for sure!
What are your hobbies? Baseball (MLB) is my first love but I enjoy most sports. Love spending time with family; especially family movie nights. I can't tell you the number of Disney movies I've consumed in the past eight years! I also like to get together with my buddies when I can. The wife and I have also recently taken up gardening, as a lot did during COVID.
What are your favorite and/or recommended books, movies, tv series, or podcasts? Love to read but it's mainly audio books through Audible. Books: Project Hail Mary, The Singularity is Near, The Story of World War II, The Vietnam War (Ken Burns), and Klosterman's Eating the Dinosaur.
Where did you go to college and what did you major in? Baylor University: Marketing & Entrepreneurship
What are past positions you've held in your career? I've been in the component / wire & cable world for 10+ years. I was with TTI, Arrow, IEWC, and PEI-Genesis previously.
What motivates you to do better in your personal and professional life? Knowing that my wife and kids will have a comfortable, enjoyable, and fulfilled life.
If you could give your younger self advice, what would it be? Chill out and enjoy the wins as they come.
