Interesting facts about Alternative Energy
·Particles of light are called photons.
·The "photovoltaic effect" was discovered in the 19th century by French physicist, Edmund Becquerel, when he noticed that when light struck a semiconductor material such as selenium, it generated a small electrical charge.
·The word photovolatic is a combination of the words "photon", meaning, a particle of light, and "volt" being a measure of electrical force.
·The speed of light is 186,282 miles per second and it takes light approximately 8 minutes to reach Earth. So, light covers the distance of over 90 million miles from the sun in less than 10 minutes! |

Dear Monica,
Thank you for tuning into our quarterly newsletter. It seems every day when I look in the paper (unlike my children I actually read a paper version), I continue to get mixed signals on the economy. Depending on the authors' perspective (and motive), the economy may be recovering, double dipping or remaining stagnant. The only thing I know for certain is that the amount of change we have seen in the economy and in technology in the last twenty four months has been incredible. T oday we ask ourselves: Should our company have a face book page? Should we be tweeting? Blogging? The impact that social networking will play in our workforce (both positive and negative) will be debated for quite some time by baby boomer's, Gen X-er's & Gen Y-er's, but as we weave our way through the new complexities of business, I feel it is more important than ever that all levels of the supply chain communicate to help our business' become more productive and more competitive. I would love to hear from you with feedback on how your business is changing to adapt to today's challenges and opportunities. I can be reached at mbabcock@lapptannehill.com. Thank you again for taking the time to view our newsletter. We hope you find the manufacturing articles and product introductions helpful, and as always, thank you for your business!
